After three years of research, the final project conference has taken place the last 10th of July at the Maritime Prefect Residence, institutional partner of the project. The Amiral Yann Tainguy commented: "This is a major stake for the Mediterranean, which is a closed sea, as the pollution is likely to end up on the coast if a maritime accident occurs".
Thanks to the development of innovative approaches and tools composed of HF radars and drifters, TOSCA has demonstrated that drift forecast can be sensibly enhanced. TOSCA innovative approach and tools were presented during the conference and illustrated to the general public through a colorful entertainment in the center of Toulon. TOSCA tools will be tested soon during a real anti-pollution exercise organized by the Maritime Prefecture coming September, off the coast of Corsica.
